You can request a test with no pictures if you're totally blind or can't see
well enough to do any good with them.   I just found this out the other day,
if I knew this in 96 I would have aced the general exam.  Anyway,  good
luck, I don't know which license you're going for but they aren't that bad
really.  Let us all know how you do.  good luck.
and BTW, if you don't mind buying used equipment, it isn't that expensive.
