If you are talking about one of the integrated Compaqs that is built like an
old Mac, you do not have to open the monitor section to get at the hard
drive. The monitor is mounted to the case cover but is still sealed away
from your hands when it is removed from the base unit.

Subject: [PCBUILD] Decharging a monitor
Hi.
I will soon work on an all-in-one Compaq computer for some hard drive
related matters.
I've never dis-charged a monitor before and want to do this to
minimize any risk to myself.
I have a book that explains how to do it, at least the screwdriver
under the cap part.
Can anyone here offer any tips? Is it loud? Can I expect a shock?
Should I put my tongue on the coil? (Just kidding on that last part.)
