I'm not saying that caloric restriction has nothing to
do with longevity. It's just the claims that caloric
restriction increases lifespan by 50-300% (50 in mice/
300 in worms) seem a little exorbitant for CR to be
the only factor.
About the Okinawans, IIRC Weston Price found that
those populations which relied on seafood as their
primary food source were the healthiest and most
long-lived..
