I read the book -- the diet is as you described.  I need more red meat, fat
and higher purine foods to feel energetic.  Also, Perricone blames saturated
fat (along with sugar) for inflammation, but Thai and Philipino women who eat
loads of saturated fat in the form of coconut oil have gorgeous skin.   I
think Perricone's diet is certainly more healthful than the standard American
diet, but it is not for everyone.
