as long the animal is sold per pound weighted before cutting  of the
carcass,there is economical interest in producing obese animal .In a lamb
for ex that are allways fatty,  lot of the subcutaneous and apparent  fat is
removed during the butchering but it is paid for and seen as unavoidable
waste to get the wanted  marbled meat .
the marbling when not excessive can be unseen and so okay to sale to lean
conscious customers . but when you compare with the meat of a wild animal
that doesnt know marbling no matter how fatty it is ,you see clearly that is
pathological .
But it is how you create money, this demeaning symbol of wealth ,  by
compromising the health of the earth....
