Hi Fred,

I am using the Ameritron ALS-600 solid state amp with my 746 Pro and it
works very, very well. However, before I was able to find this one I was
using an AEA LA-30 which was a single 3-500Z amp, again with excellent
results. You can use any of the older amps but you need to use the relay
box made by Burghardt or the one made by Ameritron to protect the relay in
the 746 Pro.

I hope this helps and good luck. Very 73.

Kevin :)

Subject: amplifier questions?

Hi all,

Just curious if anyone on the list has had any amplifiers on the air and/or
which ones would be their recomendations to work with a solid state Icom-746
pro. I've been thinking about getting a Collins 30-l1 and also wondered if
the relay circuit could be modified to work with my solid state rig?

Thanks and 73.
