use the computer program which is much easier. Unfortunately, i've never
found a way to select the memory to write to with the keyboard. Neither
can you select an empty memory from the key pad. I think memory one is
memory one regardless which band you are on. Actually, I think they call
it memory 0 and it should beep when you get to it. As I recall the way I
would do it is go to the memory mode and go to the last memory, or one you
have programmed and know where it is. I hope I have these steps right as
it has been a while and I don't have the manual here at work. Anyway, go
to vfo and program all necessary stuff. Here is where i'm unclear in my
mind if I have the right steps. You hit the function key, and I think
you'll be setting on the memory you last were on. You turn the knob to
the next one or count clicks to where you want to be and then hit the
memory write/recall key. Hope I've got that right.
