Yes, according to the Atkins camp. I saw an article not too long
ago where someone high up in Atkins said that the high-fat
Atkins diet was dangerous when the carbs were not cut out.
I'm working from memory here, but I *think* they said that
if carbs were cut, the fat was burned as fuel by the body.
But if the carbs weren't cut significantly, the fat just kind of
builds up in your arteries and causes heart attacks, etc.

I *think* this statement was in regards to someone who died
while on the Atkins diet, but I could be wrong about that.
