I find that the audio output on the ts-2000 is far superior to than the
ts-570 series of radios. I have had both sitting side by side. Transmit
audio is better too. Both have keyers, both are accessible, the ts-2000 has
a better dsp on the main band it is if dsp as apposed to af dsp. Of course
opinions are like other things and no one is exactly the same. Bang for the
buck is packed into the ts-2000 but the ts-870 has the best audio output,
both on receive and transmit and has a very nice dsp and filtering that is
superior to the ts-2000.
A friend was just here asking what is better the ts-2000, ts-940/sat or the
ts-870s. My answer was to take the best features out of all three sell it
for half of the new Icom ic7800 and Kenwood will sell a bunch of them! They
all have good features and things to offer but the ts-2000 and ts-870s were
never meant to be considered middle of the road radios but high end radios.

Hi Howard and the group.
I found myself in a similar possition a couple of years ago. I went with
the
kenwood ts-570sg. I don't regret that decision at all. The rig is verry
accessable and i really like the dsp filtering.
Thanks,
Clarence
