There is a substance that comes in strips that you can use.  I just asked for it
in a radio store when I was visiting Dallas.  It is a bit like that stuff you
use to stick posters to walls.  You simply tear off a strip of it, wind it round
your connection, and press it into place.  That's much easier than painting on
varnish or something similar.

I believe Universal Radio also has that connecter wax.
