I had 3 of them, the Kenwood TS-440 is in my opinion, 1 of Kenwood's best
radios ever, it's a real work horse and besides a couple known problems
which I would think have been fixed in most if not all of them by now, or if
you get a later serial number,  you'll get many years of good times and use
out of it. I ran mine at field day events, because people told me it would
overheat,  it ran perfect, I've sat here working DX for hours on thing,  I
run my radios hard and the 440 can definitely take anything you can throw at
it, I recommend it highly to anyone looking for something like that and
they're cheap now too.
