Hi Kevin.  not to be pushy at all, but I am doing some research ont he RS
scanners you are interested in, but what luck have you had with the BC245?
Where you are it is a Motorola system you need to be concered with and it
is type II so, all you need to do is enter in the freqs in trunk mode of
course and you will be in business.
        The other thing you should do is join the trunkcom group.  To
subscribe to that send an E-mail to [log in to unmask] and
type "subscribe" without the quotes in the body of your message
