to listen to your wireless stereo headset on the ht as opposed to the headset itself. I use this trick to really get a better picture of how my headset's signal is being propagate as the ht is a better rx with more sensitivity. I live less than 500 feet from a 500 foot cell tower and have very little problem with my vx5 in this band.

Hi, you can put this radio in wide band FM aor narrow band FM at 900 MHz
which is the redio's default. I'm just curious, but why are you wanting
to put it in swde band FM? You know if you live near a cellular phone
site like I do you more then likely will be getting immages on your radio,
and that is what I have noticed. You can't transmit on that band though.
