Yeah, John, that makes sense.  The way the manual appears to read (you just
can't depend upon scanners), this is supposed to heppen when you set the thing
for repeater use.  Maybe not.  Guess I'll have to see about getting one of the
hams to look at it when I take my general exam this week.
