It depends on you. I have a DVD player on my computer and haven't watched a single movie on it. If you want to watch DVD
movies on your PC, you'll need some software. I use WinDVD. I don't know if there's any free ones.
Personally, I'd buy a DVD player that connects to your TV, or stereo amp / receiver. As long as your TV isn't a hundred years
old, it probably has at least RCA input / output jacks, which is ok for DVD. However, if both the DVD player and the TV have
"Component" jacks, you're better off to purchase "component" patch cords, which aren't cheap, depending on the length, and
you'll get a much better picture. "Component" jacks look identical to RCA jacks, but they're different colours and should be
clearly marked as component. Also, RCA patch cords might work using the "component" jacks, but the picture would likely be no
better than using the standard RCA jacks. The difference between RCA and component patch cords is that component cords run
info in one direction, and RCA cords can run info in both directions - useless really. RCA cords are not as good, but they
work in a crunch. hth
