I understand from your comments that mutiny within the ranks of the PS
is the precipitating cause of Abdou Joof's fall. The immediate
defiance of Abdoulaye Wade may be a catalyst but the essence of the
political chance still rest on a background of reconciliatory politics
that the Senegalese government has cultivated for years before that
election. In fact I recall that Abdoulaye Wade himself was serving in
Joof's cabinet just before the electoral campaign. This is the reason
why the democratic process in Senegal is peaceful despite all alleged
irregularities.
