I remember Art used to have a signature line for his e-mails that went
something like: 'Paleos never jogged - they sprinted' so he was probably
thinking we'd chase after a rabbit, but only for a minute or two.  Sort of
fits in with Mark's observation in response to your question. We are lazy
bu***rs  now and we were lazy bu***rs then.

Incidentally, I find the list of features you give which represent the
advantages of walking upright on two feet as wonderful examples of
scientific imaginations at work.  I have become familiar with so many of
these 'informed speculations' since I began reading about human evolution;
thinking about the basis for evolutionary advantages is without doubt one
of the most rewarding and stimulating aspects of my research.
