A customer has blown up her WinME setup and wants to install Win98SE instead
(with which I wholeheartedly agree).

Neither does she want XP.

Naturally, her Recovery disk set will only reinstate the doggy ME.

I note that the HP 6701 site has drivers for the computer but I'm picking
that these will only be applicable to ME.

Can anyone comment on this please?
