Possible answer to Warren Andelt's problem in PCSOFT Digest - 7 Nov 2002
to 8 Nov 2002 (#2002-313)
I've had the same problem - I think only from AOL subscribers.
About a month ago I also posted the problem to PCSOFT Digest and a kind soul
gave me
the answer which I'm happy to pass along:
It seems every time an AOL message is FORWARDED it becomes embedded - so if
you get a message that has been forwarded three times, you must open layer
after layer, one blank screen after another, and then you'll get the
message. Like a set of those nested Russian dolls!
At least that works with me - I have W 98 & use OE 6.0 & Comcast Cabe ISP
Originally I contacted AOL and Comcast - both were clueless and each one
told me to contact the other!

Subject: Opening Attachments to E-mail Messages with an .eml Extension
I am running Windows 98 and Outlook Express 5.5. When I receive an =
e-mail with an .eml extension which includes an attachment, I am unable =
to open the attachment. If it is text, I can view it with Quick View but =
a graphics file will not open with anything I have tried so far. Outlook =
Express only opens up another window identical to the original e-mail =
message window. I would appreciate suggestions. Thank you
