The standard, "We didn't say anything because it would be ineffectual",
hypocritical excuse so favored by Chomsky types. Of course based on your
"logic" the fellas from 'Down Under" need to be quiet about anything that
does not involve their government (I don't agree with that, and I think the
argument you present here is self-serving, hypocritical, and basically
dishonest).
