Fixing a hole where the rain comes in
Peanut (who is 3 1/2) is already picking out my wardrobe; and practicing to
be the drama queen.when things don't go her way
I am already a seasoned negotiator; and could have sold several bridges by
now compared to what we trade for "brushing toofies" and eating more than
the mac cheese for dinner .
No " of course is high in her lexicon ; and this week she has been trying the
tantrum method of bargaining; its a little like scream therapy with the
fists and feet beating the floor.
Hollering females have never been one of my patience points; it takes all my
inner strength to count to ten and not give into the drastic measures of the
Zen tap.
Tonight in one particularly long encounter I explained that she needed to go
do that in her room because the "water Pipe leaked " right above her head ;
"No" she said and carried on like no tomorrow; well right on schedule the "pipe
leaked " and a glass of cold water found its mark right to where I said it
would.
Amazingly The performance ended abruptly and the transformation to bed time
was more orderly than I could possibly imagine.
This of course will not go down in the annuals of child rearing,( I think the
Chinese perfected a method of inquiry out of it ) ; and Ma Ma had she been
home might have re -introduced me to her rolling pin which is a more permanent
form of therapy.
