hi, never used the newest, but do own an omni 6 plus and like it very much.
i understand the orion is tremendous but never even seen one. The one thing
i can say about the omni is that it does all that they say it will and
recevier is tremendous. in saying this, it is not the most accessable in the
world, something i don't care for. i have a TS570DG and can access every
menu option easily via speech and on the ten tec the only thing i can access
with speech is the frequency readout. Guess there is always a trade off in
life but i don't like it. Wish i could have both but feel that the ten tec
recever is worth the loss in accessability at this point. never used a
TS2000 and understand it is a very nice rig but not sure how the receiever
compares. The filters on CW are quite a pleasure to use and its DSP does
seem to work as well as noise blanker etc. 73, Dave W4CI
