Walt,

I too have heard this especially on some cable channels.  I am not sure if it is transponder identification or what however.  You are right that the code is too good to be anything but machine generated.  I will also take a listen tonight to see if we have it on our local station carrying this program but as it is local and they have been good about stripping out the behind the scenes stuff doubt that I will find it there.  

Were you watching this on a local station or via a cable station from a remote site or via satellite?
