Alan can either do a straight repair and cleaning or he can do a full
engineering update, meaning that any parts that have been changed or
improved since your Perkins was originally manufactured will be replaced
with the most current parts. I recommend this, especially the new pressure
roller design. In either case, the machine is totally disassembled, fully
cleaned by soaking in solvent, re-lubricated and re-assembled. His normal
base charge is $45 plus parts and shipping. I've had several machines
repaired by Alan and the average charge, including engineering upgrades on
each machine, was around $110 total. His work is warrantied for one year.
