Hello Kevin

I use the FT1000MP for my main rig.

I can't say that it is the most accessible, but as an experienced ham
(and with a bit of sighted help) it is possible to set up for V.I. use
and the occasional confirming of rig settings when your finger
enthusiasm has got the better of your mental control!

I use mine with the external fh-1 keypad for some VFO controls (and
other functions) which means that you don't have to fumble about the
front keypads so much.

The menus are not able to be set up without sight so you need assistance
with this but once set up you should be fine apart from the occasional
help. I haven't yet found a program which will do this although several
are about which are windows based, but not accessible.

I hope this helps, if you or any other listers want any specific
comments on this superb rig then please contact me off line if it isn't
of a general interest.
