Hi Group,

I'm helping a friend upgrade his computer to Win XP. The HD always shows up
in PIO mode. I have it set to DMA if available in the HD controller
properties. Have tried the usual driver reninstalls, changed 80 pin cables,
etc. It is an UDMA 100 drive, and shows such in the bios. MB is an Amptron
810. The DVD-ROM does show up in DMA mode.

I remember reading about a registry hack to force it into DMA, but can't
track it down now that I need it. Any ideas?

TIA,
        Phillip Roey
