Steve,  We didn't join up till late, 4 March 1791, but I don't think we
wanted to secede after that.  There were some problems between NY and NH,
both wanting to claim VT lands, that had to be cleared up by congress
before we could join the US.  Before that we were an independent country
and sometimes I wish we still were.  Then Dean would have been president
already and he wouldn't have to run now.  Ruth
