Penny,

If all you will be adding to this list is K-100 (7.0 I presume), you
should be fine. I currently have all these software packages running on
my Win 2K Pro SP3 Dell Optiplex lab computers. They are P4, 2.24 GHz
with 512 RAM systems. A couple of things to be observant of are,
install K-1000 (7.0) before K-3000 (7.0) and be careful with JAWS 4.51
and ZoomText Xtra Level 2. Perhaps the latest ZoomText (8.x) is
compatible with the JAWS DCM drivers but I had conflicts between JAWS
4.51 and the earlier version of ZoomText Xtra over the DCM drivers in
JAWS. Because of this, I am currently using JAWS 4.50 and ZoomText 7.x.

If I can be of further help, please feel free to contact me off list.

Jeff

Subject: How much is too much?

Hello EASI people,

We have been able to add some additional software to our campus
workstations. BEFORE I do the installs I was wondering if anyone would
be able to offer some input as to whether one workstation can handle all
the speech input/output software together. Certainly, I understand that
they cannot all be running at the same time, but can they all reside on
the same machine? When the software comes in we will be running Windows
XP on 2 GHz machines with at least 500 MB RAM.

The software's that I wish to install are:

Jaws
ZoomText Xtra level II
Kurzweil 3000
Kurzweil 1000
Dragon NaturallySpeaking professional

That's all. I do have machines running Jaws, ZoomText, Kurzweil 3000
and Dragon NaturallySpeaking. But I've had no experience adding
Kurzweil 1000 to the mix.

Any experience out there that I should be aware of?

Thanks very much in advance,

Penny
