Before the Agricultural revolution of 10,000 - 3,000 ya, there were far
fewer animal parasites.  When animals were roaming free and not forced to
live on the same confined plot of land continuously, they would not have
anything like the propensity to pick up parasites.

And while humans were confining animals, they were also living close with
them, esp over winter and parasites spread easily from one species to
another in these insanitary, unnatural conditions.
