I always configure systems the way Angus Noon has indicated.
Main hard drive= Primary Master
2nd HD or ZIP= Primary Slave
CD ROM= Secondary Master
CD-R/W= Secondary Slave
As mobos are getting more sophisticated nowadays, I have not encountered any
major problem with this set up. However, I am not sure of the older mobos.
Jumper settings, BIOS settings and the assignment of cable connections may
come into play and make a.big difference.
