My operatiang system is Windows ME and the computer is a Dell. My computer locks up frequently, indicated by flashing dialog box if open and the mouse pointer will freeze in place. I initially thought the Mouse was causing the problem, but now I am not sure. I have verified that the proper boxes are checked in the Control Panel for the Mouse (Intelli Mouse) and have run NAV to insure that there is not a virus in the system. I have reduced the number of programs loading at start up to a minimum. I have also run Scan Disk and Defrag. The problem persist, intermitently, but all to frequently. My computer is used primarily for Email (MSN) and playing Solitaire games. I do very little downloading. The solitaire game that I play was preload on my computer. Any suggestions as to what is causing this problem would be appreciated. As a poi
nt of clarification, the obvious problem is the Mouse Point will not move causing me to Restart the computer.
