Hi,

1) Would you mind telling us which device was the one that had the yellow !
mark.
I know that you listed the error, but it does not tell us the device involved.

2) I have in the past had to go into the safemode of windows, go the the
device manager and remove
what shows up to be the problem and a similar items, then when the system
reboots it finds the correct one.

example DMA controller and EISA DMA controller. the first was fine the
second had a ! mark.
When I removed the two of them, the EISA controler was found and installed
fine.
It's as if the other one was blocking it.

error message that was displayed was "V9X HAM 1394V this device cannot find
enough free resources that it can use (code 12)".

what i had already tried.
