>Incidentally, what is the recommended amt. of DHA and EPA >should one
supplement with?
this is the million dollar question. no one seems to show absolutely for
sure. the highest figure i think i have seen in terms of actual consumption
was 34 grams of combined dha/epa for an inuit. surely this is too high,
maybe way too high.
i would punt for 6-8 grams of each at the moment as being ideal.
>Most supplements I find have a higher amt. of EPA than DHA. >Is this good?
DHA is much more important for brain function. it comprises a considerable
proportion of the lipids in the brain [ive seen 25%, 30%, 35% figures...].
EPA is more relevant for circulatory health and suppressing excessive immune
system reaction [ie for auto-immune diseases].
