Good advice! I do not fly often, and on my last trip, I thought that if I
ordered a "diabetic" meal, I would surely get protein and veggies. BIG
MISTAKE. I received rubbery tasting lentils with some kind of sweet (!)
tasting sauce with a few microscopic pieces of cubed processed chicken, fruit
and a sugar-free cookie. I can't imagine diabetics actually surviving these
meals. Pack your own food -- hard-boiled eggs, sugar-free jerkey, sliced
meats, some raw veggies/fruit, nuts, sardines (I know they smell -- just eat
them before you board the plane -- great hunger killers.)
