I don't plan on having any blood work done soon. I'm not sure how much
longer I'm going to do this -- a few more days, I guess. If I don't
determine that *something* interesting is happening, I'll stop. As I've
described before, I have a "lowcarb setpoint" of about 230 lbs. ( or a
bit more) that I reach if I reduce carbs to 60g or less. That's 21.5%
body fat for me. To go below that (I'd like to achieve 12% body fat,
but I'd settle for 15%) I have to restrict calories to where I'm hungry
a good part of the time. This, as all dieters know, is hard to maintain
for a long time. I was hoping that DIT would initiate weight loss
without caloric restriction. Even though I don't think I could stay on
this DIT-zy diet indefinitely, I thought perhaps I could drop some
weight and then stabilize by going back to normal paleo foods. As of
this morning, however, my weight is 233, which is exactly what it was
last Sunday when I started this, and every day in between. Even normal
daily fluctuations have not occurred, probably because I'm not holding
much extra water.
