I have to strongly disagree with this.
While exercise and other lifestyle components (cf the book "Lights Out, Sleep,
Sugar and Survival") are very important, the one change that will make the most
difference to the average human being is lowering their daily carbohydrate
intake (below 100 grams). Certainly, going the full Paleo diet route is
extremely helpful, especially to those with illness (cf Ray Audette). But,
what thousands of people report is that just lowering their carb intake makes a
very surprising difference in how they feel - a large number of modern
ailments, including depression, joint pain, stomach acid, headaches and lack of
libido, are often helped simply by cutting carbs. This is why the Paleo diet
book "The Protein Power Lifeplan" by Drs. Eades, has three levels of
rigorousness, where the least rigorous plan is mostly cutting carbohydrates.
