I live in the eastern 'burbs of Charlotte. There are literally dozens of
hotels in the immediate vicinity of Dilworth. The downtown hotels - the ones
inside the I-277 loop, the Sheraton, Adam's Mark, Marriott, Omni, Holiday
Inn, Dunhill - are literally less than 5 minutes drive time from Dilworth.
Down I-77 southbound, there are even more (and less pricey) offerings that
are no more than 10-15 minutes from Dilworth. Heck, there was a hotel right
on East Boulevard called the Dilworth Inn last time I checked, but I suspect
that it's also a bit on the high side.
Another thing I'm curious about. You mean to say that those $400,000+
craftsman-style bungalows and victorians down there only have single baths?
Sheesh.
In any event, it pains me to hear of your son's attitude. I certainly hope
my now-teenage kids don't grow up thinking of me that way. My condolences
over what must be a painful situation.
Oh, I used to post here a year and a half or so ago. I made a bit of a
splash and offended some folks, so I retreated to lurk mode. I still read
this list off and on, but reading about an area that is literally less than
10 miles from my door moved me to dust off the typing fingers.
Regards,
Brent Edwards
