Hello,Sorry but I have sold and had both machines. Right now im running an amd xp2500. I had an xp1900 and upgraded and went with a P4 2.53.I ran it for about a week and went back to amd. The intel (which is supposed to be better and faster) can not compare to the amd in anything I do. The only thing the intel did better at was a 3d benchmark and it was 54 points. The difference between intel and amd most say is like ford and chevy cars. But I can say between the AMD barton xp 2500 chip and the intel p4 2.53 the AMD system runs 10 times better and smoother than the Intel. Jim Hodges

Sorry, but I have to disagree Dave. For what he wants to do, and if he
wants no headaches doing it, the Intel class machine will be much
smoother for him over the life of the system.
I sell both products to dealers, and every day I see more and more of
the once diehard AMD dealers, switching back to the Intel camp. They
are tired of early failures and the finikyness of the AMD products. Not
all but enough.
AMD is great for what is it, but an Intel system built the same day,
with all the same components except chip mainboard and fan, will be
running much longer and with less problems to the operator of that
system, than an AMD system will.
If you want to tweak and experiment, go AMD. If you want it to just run
and run well, go Intel
In my humble opinion, based on experience.

If that's all they're doing then no, they shouldn't notice a performance
difference, but if they discover gaming or video editing, then there
will be a noticeable difference. Split the difference and go with an
Athlon and make everyone happy.
