Hi Peter:
Today, I got the hard drive in question to bootup in safe mode
(command prompt only). I checked for virus's = none. Cleaned things
up and try updating my virus definitions. They were already current.
At this point the hard drive looks good. I was surprised that I could
only get in safe mode that way. I believe it was the only choice I
had not tried.
If the virus is not on the hard drive. I suppose the bios chip is my
best try. I never reflashed a bios. I swapped some out. I may try
swaping it with another exact same unit. I wonder if I would damage
it getting it off? Or, maybe just buy a replacement? How would I
flash the bios? Could I download a program?
Thanks in advance
Thanks Peter
