Like Lady MacBeth, I've been having hallucinations about blood today. <g>
But I think I've got it figured out where I was confused about red blood
cells and their lifespan. Human, afterall. I must have been thinking about
platelets whose normal lifespan is about 8-10 days (but which lifespan is
reduced in stored blood to about 70% at 5 days).
Dang, it's hard to retrace the veins of thought from which any of this
entered (or got confused) in my mind, but I think it was from reading last
year about "sticky platelets" and fibrin/fibrinogen and their relationship
to CVD. I read platelet, but thought red blood cell.
Now I wash my hands of this topic. LOL.....aren't you all glad?!!
