Pork fat, you mean lard?  Is that the same thing?  When I was a little girl
while my dad was stationed in Germany, my German cousin would spread a thick
slab of the stuff on a slice of German rye bread, then sprinkle salt on top.
Delicious!  Never seen it here.  I've always wished I had some more of it!
