Could be:-

<http://www.openoffice.org>

Originally developed in Germany as "StarOffice" versions 1 to 5.1, it
was then bought by Sun Microsystems who released v. 5.2 free. They
then released the source code and setup the "Open Office Project"
this led to the release of Open Office 1.0 and in parrallel
StarOffice 6.0.

The StarOffice variant is no longer free (it includes some "extras")
and is sold by Sun.

Cheers

Deri
