I posted a side note about my and my neice's lose ligaments & joints.
I've received quite a few "me-too" responses from list members. Someone
responded by kindly supplying the name of this syndrome: (EDS)
A couple of folks stated that they have loved ones with loose
ligaments/joints & were concerned that this means that they aren't
following the GF diet faithfully. I didn't mean to imply that loose
ligaments & joints is a symptom of celiac disease or non compliance to
the GF diet. I believe EDS could be a condition frequently associated
with celiac disease just as scoliosis, lupus, hypothyroidism, diabetes,
alopecia, etc. I don't believe that the GF diet will have any effect on
joint stability (but who knows? not me!). I apologize if I mislead
anyone into thinking that loose joints are a symptom of celiac disease
which can be treated by the GF diet.
