In this article an antibody to a specific grass pollen allergen was
engineered using genetic recombinant technology.  The engineered antibodies
were tested with allergen material collected from 26 grass pollen allergic
test patients.  In sufficient concentration, the engineered antibodies can
completely supress the histamine reaction to specific types of grass pollen
in basophils from these patients.  Nasal spray trials in test patients
using the engineered antibodies are to be studied next.

Assuming specific celiac disease causing gluten antigens are identified,
can recombinant antibodies be engineered to prevent gluten reactions? Can
any research specialists out there provide an opinion?
