Hello everyone. I have been lurking here for a few weeks. I want to thank
all of you for your help. I have learned a lot here already. I was dx with
celiac as a baby, per my mother. I am an Rn and in the last year have
struggled with severe stress and SEVERE fatigue and joint pain. I
absolutely love bread, etc. I am alas also overweight and a few weeks ago I
began(yet again) a low carb diet, I also began taking prenatal vitamins(my
neighbor said they gave her energy). I felt SOOO much better I was amazed.
I am not sure what made me think of the celiac stuff but I did and I have
been trying to be gluten free since. My question is this- I have a 17 yr
old son. He is moody, angry (almost to the dangerous point) and depressive.
When he was a 2 yr old he had severe diarrhea. I took him home from the
hospital after 2 weeks. (he still had diarrhea). The docs thought he had
salmonella. My mother (was alive then) insisted on a gluten free diet. I
did it for about 6 mos. diarrhea cleared up nicely and after a while he
began to eat wheat again. No problem. As I said he is now 17, Dx with type
2 diabetes ,high blood pressure, depression, anger mismanagement (He is half
native american and overweight as well) and he has troubles with the law.
His inconsistancy in mood is about the only thing that is consistant about
him. When he does the low carb thing he seems much nicer. Do you guys think
he could be celiac as well?? I am looking for any info, suggestions or
whatever. I thank you in advance......Mary
