I thought of that too, but it's not the answer.  The combination
of meat and fruit does not necessarily cause the problem, and the
salad/veg is as likely to do so as anything.  I have been
completely unable to isolate a combination of foods that trigger
it.

That said, I have been following Rachel's suggestions and so far
they appear to be working.  I'm taking artichoke extract *and*
milk thistle; I'm restricting meat to hand-sized portions, and
keeping it lean; and I'm eating more fruits and veggies.  I
haven't had any episodes of stomach distension/bloating since
making these changes.  So far, so good.
