It cannot be defined  meaningfully because  "fresh fruits and veggies "have
meaning to me only if they are harvested and consumed the same day .( the
best is the same minute but we don't have to be excessif here despite it
Really makes a big difference  )
 It might be still considered fresh enough if it comes from local farmers
and have  been harvested the day before you can eat it .
but  no stores carry this kind of fruits and veggies as they are produced
from an "other planet" miles away  .

dying but once vibrant beings ( hopefully if they grew not too
artificially ) trying to make a living .

Oh yes so we could see that it can't be fresh or harvested ripe and  can't
have still  some value as food ( may be as filling for cavities )

no especially when by mistake  what you buy today have  the date of harvest
being   tomorrow , other time may be
