Hi Tom,

I'm going to answer your question, but I may have it a little wrong, if I
do, I stand corrected.
Ilink preceded echo link. You can still use Ilink, but it is no longer very
popular, I don't really know why it has become less popular.

ILRP, as I understand it, is a internet system that allows repeaters to be
connected together like echo link except the only hams that can get
connected through ILRP are actual repeater stations. I think that echo link
is our best bet!

Subject: echolink

Thanks, especially to Dave Marthouse and Bob Tinney for your help with my
beginning echolink questions.

Now, the next thing I have to do is download the software and give it a try.

I do still have one question, and please forgive my lack of knowledge here.

What's the difference between echolink, and other systems like I-link and
IRLP?

Or, is echolink somehow related to these?

We college professors still have a lot to learn also. (GRIN)

Thanks again to all on the list for such a great service.
