I originally thought about this, but then I thought that Windows couldn't have caused this confusion due to the fact that the system freezes while in bios.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but my assumption is that if I'm not yet in Windows it couldn't be the cause.  Please tell me I'm wrong, that by far would be the simplest solution to this crazy problem.  If you confirm that there is a hint of a possibility of this, I'll reinstall it immediately.   AL
