Garlic is a very good source; plants absorb selenium when grown in soil
that
contains selenium. Selenium-deficient soils, like those in Oregon, can
affect
heart health, if you eat only foods grown there.
Here in the Great Plains, the problem can sometimes be too much selenium
absorbed into pasture plants, causing sickness in cattle and horses.
